The Bikery Purpose
The Bikery provides low-cost, recycled cycling equipment to the community, ensuring equality through access for all.
Working collaboratively with Partners to maximise our impact in the community ensuring the reach and sustainability of the business.
Adopting a disused building within the town to relocate and expand the original project. Renovating the building to create a new shop and workshop space within the town center; working towards the town’s regeneration plan.
Our project intends to reduce the number of bikes entering landfill through our recycling service and promote a re-use message within the community. Supporting local transportation options, reducing car usage and emissions. Reducing environmental impact by re-purposing a rundown building which has stood empty since 2018 and updating it with net-zero in mind.
The Bikery Services
All bikes sold from The Bikery have undergone a full service and have been upgraded to ensure they are ready for your next cycling adventure.
Our mechanics are all Velotech trained to at least Bronze level, our lead mechanic is Gold Velotech trained to ensure a high standard of repairs to all our bikes.
The Bikery provides:
- Bike sales – We have bikes for sale for all age groups, if we don’t have your size available, we can take your details and contact you when we do. In 2023 we will be selling band new bikes alongside our recycled bikes.
- Bike servicing starting at £35 for a 12-point check (any new parts charged separately)
- Bike parts for repairs
- Volunteering Opportunities
