The Bikery is a community-driven project run by Gordon Rural Action
The Bikery provides affordable, recycled cycling equipment to the community, helping ensure that everyone has access to a bike.
By working closely with our partners, we aim to increase our community impact and strengthen the reach and long-term sustainability of the project.
Our location was originally a disused bakery in Gordon Street and it has been completely renovated and fitted out with an extensive range of bicycle workshop equipment and a shop. We continue to improve our facilities to support our customers and the town’s regeneration plans.
Our project will help keep bikes out of landfill through recycling and promote reuse within the community. By supporting cycling as a local transport option, we also aim to reduce car use and emissions.
The Bikery Services
Bike sales – We have bikes for sale for all age groups, if we don’t have your size available, we can take your details and contact you when we do.
All bikes sold from The Bikery have undergone a full service and have been upgraded to ensure they are ready for your next cycling adventure.
Bike parts for repairs
Cycling Accessories Helmets, bike locks, mirrors, pedals, tyres etc.
Volunteering Opportunities On Wednesday mornings we hold volunteering sessions, stripping down old bikes, recycling parts and materials and building and repairing bikes. Drop by the shop, call 07572 674501 or email hello@thebikery.org.uk for details.
Bike servicing starting at £35 for a 20-point inspection.
Our mechanics are all Velotech trained to at least Bronze level, our lead mechanic is Gold Velotech trained to ensure a high standard of repairs to all our bikes.
